Description
This pedal contains a Germanium Chorister and a Welsh Cake. By default the Chorister is first and feeds the Welsh Cake. However, on the back there are two sets of inputs and outputs that allow the two circuits to be used in any way you like.
THE CHORISTER
This is not a clean boost! The Chorister is an old school treble booster that boosts the mid and upper frequencies - the resultant tone cuts through a mix well. The single level control allows you to control the level of the boost. At low levels there's a hint of overdrive. At higher levels there is some nice breakup and the pedal will begin to push the front of your amplifier. It is not so nice into clean sounds - stick it in front of something already overdriven - especially thicker tones.
This version uses a Germanium transistor. Germanium transistors are loved by many for their dynamic and expressive character. Germanium transistors also have different frequency responses - when compared to Silicon - which can result in a more vintage or retro sound.
Power is supplied via a standard 9v centre negative power supply only - no internal battery.

THE WELSH CAKE
A lovely fat overdrive with loads of character. For the Mids control: Anti-clockwise is more mids, clockwise is less mids. Mids straight up is not the best setting. Try all the way left and adjust a little towards the right to suit, or try all the way to the right and adjust a little to the left to suit.
